Chocolate Icing

 

Chocolate icing

is delicious on just about any type of cake or cupcake and sometimes just straight out of the bowl.. Many people chose to have chocolate icing on their birthday cakes because the chocolate icing is scrumptious.

On holidays such as Halloween almost every school is having some kind of Halloween party and they request cupcakes from the Mothers of the children in class. Chocolate icing goes along really well with the Halloween themes of these parties.

There are choc icing recipes in every cookbook known to woman or man. Here is a simple choc icing recipe that will only take you a few minutes to prepare for those delicious cupcakes.

The ingredients for a this icing are as follows,

·         A quarter cup of melted butter (*NOTE* make sure it is not margarine)

·         Half a cup of unsweetened cocoa powder

·         One third cup of milk

·         One teaspoon of vanilla extract

·         One quarter teaspoon of salt

·         Three cups of confectioners’ sugar

Utensils needed:

·         One large bowl

·         Beater or forks (if you do not mind manually beating the mix)

·         Spatula

Now that we have all of the utensils and ingredients gathered let’s get started! Take the large bowl and add the cocoa powder and melted butter. (Remember if you want better consistency, do not use margarine) Mix the ingredients until they are thoroughly. Then add salt, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix all of the ingredients until they become smooth. Add the confectioners’ sugar as you are stirring until the icing becomes smooth and creamy. *NOTE* if you want the icing to be a little thinner add a half of a teaspoon of milk while stirring. Now, you have a delicious tasting icing.

Chocolate icing is for those who love chocolate. You can decorate a cake or cupcakes or actually use chocolate icing on just about any pastry you would want too.

Other types of chocolate icing are the ready-made chocolate icing available at any grocery store. These types of icings are quicker and easier to deal with if you do not have the time to prepare for the chocolate icing from scratch.

There are several different types of chocolate icing. There is chocolate fudge, German chocolate, Chocolate Fondant, Chocolate Fudge Buttercream and many more to choose from.

Chocolate icing can be used for chocolate filling in a cake or to help hold a chocolate layer cake together. Some people prefer chocolate icing over vanilla icing on their birthday cakes or cupcakes. Chocolate seems to bring out the flavor of the cake or cupcake better than any other icing.

Everyone loves to indulge every once in a while and a good cake or cupcake with that creamy chocolate icing seems to do the trick every time. A chocolate frosting is a good way to decorate a cake for Halloween. For example, sometimes a witch cake is requested for a Halloween party and the cake has many areas that will require a dark chocolate for that area. The hat and her dress will need the dark Chocolate icing.
