Chocolate pudding to many is a dessert that is flavored with chocolate much like custard. There are two types of chocolate pudding. One type is boiled and then put in the refrigerator to chill; the second is baked or steamed much like a cake. Some brands are a powder form of chocolate and you just add milk and place in the refrigerator to chill then serve.
Chocolate pudding that is boiled then chilled is the type of pudding that most in the United States and Canada likes to eat. However, the steamed or baked type chocolate pudding is considered to be the favorite of the UK, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand.
However, many children or adults will come home from a long day at school or work and want to grab a quick snack. They may have the choice of cookies or chocolate pudding, what do they grab? They either grab the chocolate pudding or both, depending on how hungry they are..
If you do not have a snack in the house but you have the ingredients for someone craving chocolate pudding you can whip up batch in at least as little as 10 minutes. The ingredients you will need is as follows,
· One cup of milk
· A quarter cup of sugar
· Three ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips
· One tablespoon of water
· One tablespoon of cornstarch
· One tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
· One egg
· Tow egg yolks
· Two tablespoons of vanilla
· Two tablespoons of butter
Once you have all of the ingredients gathered, grab a bowl and a mixer and get to it! First, you will pour the one cup of milk and the sugar, and the semi-sweetened chocolate chips into the bowl. Cover the bowl completely for at least three minutes to give it time to saturate. In a separate bowl, sift the coca powder and the cornstarch together and add water and stir until smooth. Then combine the ingredients of both bowls into one. Whisk the eggs into the mixture and cook for at least two minutes, make sure you stir as you cook. Then remove from heat, stir briskly, then cook for an additional two minutes and continue stirring. Then you take that mixture and pour it into the blender and add the butter and the vanilla to that mixture then blend. Blend until smooth, pour mixture into cups and put in refrigerator to chill.
After the Chocolate pudding has chilled you now have a wonderful tasty chocolate pudding desert for the family. This chocolate pudding dessert recipe only serves four people so if you want to serve more be sure to double the recipe. If you do not want to make the pudding from scratch you can go to the store and purchase the pre-mixed pudding that you can just add milk and stir then chill. There are other alternatives such as snack packs as well and the go-pudding pops, these are pudding in a convenient squeeze pack for children. Either way, you cannot go wrong with pudding snacks for the whole family and for chocolate pudding fans alike
